This Dreamist-inspired homebrew beer kit recipe for a dark ale simplifies the process with pre-measured and packaged ingredients. The final result will be a rich, flavorful ale that’s perfect for sharing with fellow Dreamists or enjoying during rituals and celebrations.
Ingredients included in the kit:
1 bag pre-milled steeping grains (in a mesh bag):
1 lb chocolate malt
1 lb crystal malt (60L)
1 lb Munich malt
0.5 lb black patent malt
6 lbs liquid malt extract (LME)
1 lb dry malt extract (DME)
1 oz. Willamette hops (bittering)
1 oz. Fuggle hops (aroma)
1 packet ale yeast (e.g., Safale US-05, Nottingham, or a similar strain)
5 oz. priming sugar
Instructions:
Begin by setting your intention for the brew. Hold your hands over the ingredients, close your eyes, and visualize a rich, dark ale filled with the energy and magic of Dreamism.
Heat 2.5 gallons of water to 160°F (71°C) in a large brew kettle(or pot). Add the pre-milled steeping grains in the mesh bag, ensuring they’re fully submerged. Maintain a temperature of 160°F (65°C) and steep the grains for 60 minutes.
After the steeping is complete, remove the grain bag and let the liquid drain into the kettle(Or just pull the grain bag out of the pot). Discard the grains.
Bring the wort to a rolling boil. Slowly stir in the liquid malt extract (LME) and dry malt extract (DME), making sure they dissolve completely.
Once boiling, add the 1 oz. Willamette hops for bittering. Boil for 60 minutes.
At the last 15 minutes of the boil, add the 1 oz. Fuggle hops for aroma.
After the boil is complete, cool the wort rapidly to 70°F (21°C) using a wort chiller or an ice bath.
Once cooled, transfer the wort to a sanitized fermenter. Top off with cold water to reach a total volume of 5 gallons, leaving behind any sediment in the kettle.
Pitch the yeast into the fermenter according to the package instructions. Seal the fermenter with an airlock.
Store the fermenter in a dark, temperature-controlled area (ideally around 65°F/18°C) for 2 weeks or until fermentation is complete.
Once fermentation is complete, dissolve 5 oz. of priming sugar in 2 cups of boiling water to create a priming solution. Allow the solution to cool, then gently mix it into the fermented ale.
Bottle the ale in sanitized bottles and cap them securely. Store the bottles in a cool, dark place for 2-3 weeks to allow for carbonation.
After the carbonation period, your Dreamist Dark Ale is ready to enjoy. Share it with friends and fellow Dreamists, and savor the rich flavors and magical energy infused within.
