Summer Solstice Ritual for Dreamists

The Summer Solstice, also known as Midsummer or Litha, signifies the longest day of the year and the abundance of light and warmth. For Dreamists, this is a time to celebrate the power of the sun, rejoice in the fullness of life, and cultivate inner strength and resilience. The following Summer Solstice ritual can be performed individually or as a group.

Preparation
Choose an outdoor space with exposure to sunlight, such as a beach, park, or a sunny garden, to connect with the energy of the sun and the Earth. Gather the following items:
Sunflowers, or other yellow and orange flowers, representing the sun and its power
A small dish of honey, symbolizing the sweetness and abundance of life
A yellow or gold candle, representing the light and warmth of the sun
Incense or dried herbs, such as sage or lavender, to cleanse and purify the space
A small bowl of water, to honor the balance between sun and water in sustaining life
Cleansing the Space
Light the incense or dried herbs and gently fan the smoke around your ritual space, purifying the area and inviting positive energy. Say a prayer or chant to invoke the presence of the divine and set your intentions for the ritual.

Lighting the Candle
Light the yellow or gold candle, acknowledging the power of the sun and the height of its influence on the Earth. As you do so, say a prayer or chant to honor the creator and express gratitude for the life-sustaining energy of the sun.

Flower Offering
Arrange the sunflowers or other yellow and orange flowers around the candle as an offering to the divine, acknowledging the beauty and power of the sun. Say a prayer or chant to honor the creator and express gratitude for the abundance and warmth of the Summer Solstice.

Honey Tasting
Take a small taste of honey, savoring the sweetness and abundance it represents. Share the honey with others participating in the ritual, if applicable. As you enjoy the honey, express gratitude for the blessings and abundance in your life, and set intentions to share this abundance with others in the spirit of tikkun olam.

Water Blessing
Hold the bowl of water and bless it with your intentions for balance, nourishment, and the harmonious interaction of sun and water in sustaining life. Sprinkle the water over the flowers and the ritual space, as a symbolic gesture of gratitude for the balance of elements that support life on Earth.

Closing the Ritual
Extinguish the candle, giving thanks to the creator for the blessings of the Summer Solstice and the abundance of light and life. Dispose of the ritual items respectfully, such as returning the flowers to nature or composting them, and keeping the remnants of the honey and water in a sacred space to remind you of the abundance of the season.

Carry the energy and intentions of the Summer Solstice ritual with you throughout the season, celebrating the abundance and warmth of life, and working towards tikkun olam with a renewed sense of strength and resilience.
